As a CEO, I take a business meets spirituality approach towards running and maintaining a sustainable and thriving business. Over the past ten years, I have incorporated various spiritual techniques into my business infrastructure, which has helped it expand and grow into a small, robust, global machine.

It might be hard to believe, but I was not a spiritual, grateful, or positive person until 29. It was only then that I started to love my work and running my business.

It was the breakdown of a problematic romantic relationship that took me down the spiritual path, discovering a new set of tools that turned my life around.

I believe spirituality is an integral part of a business’ infrastructure. So, where do you start? How do you incorporate spirituality techniques into your business?

How To Manifest Effectively

Believe it or not, manifesting is something that everyone does daily, whether consciously or unconsciously. Of course, there are many different ‘definitions’ of the word manifest. Still, the simplest would be (in spiritual terms) that a manifestation is ‘something put into your physical reality through thought, feelings, and beliefs.’ This means that whatever you focus on is what you are bringing into your reality.

You can manifest through meditation, visualization, or via your conscious or subconscious mind. For example, if you have been thinking about getting a new job and you focused on exactly what you wanted and when you liked it, your thoughts and feelings would be strong surrounding this. You could then try to meditate or visualize your goals, manifesting your dream job and turning that dream into reality.

Manifesting helps align you with what you want –goals, dreams, and the feelings your heart desires. When manifesting becomes a part of your daily routine, it helps to reduce any fears that are blocking you from moving forward. It helps build trust in yourself, the universe, and, of course, your business! It also changes your perception and strengthens your intuition.

However, it is important to ensure that you manifest in a way that is the most powerful and effective. For example, before I met my intuitive business consultant, Nand Harjani from Creative Life Sciences, I was manifesting in the way that all of the books and spiritual magazines tell you to. The type of manifestations I used to say was: “I am strong,” “I am a successful businesswoman who runs a thriving business,” “I am confident of closing lots of business deals,” “I am enough.” These manifestations were effective to a point, but I always knew in the back of my mind that something was missing; something preventing me from taking the risks I needed to allow my business to grow. I kept following the blueprint and exemplary templates and affirming what I wanted to cultivate, but I wasn’t going anywhere, and my business was not growing.

When I recited my manifestations to Nand, he said they lacked specificity, clarity, and focus. He told me I needed to introduce more detail and adjust the wording to change the energy behind my intentions. Amazingly, when I began to say a specific and detailed affirmation, it became much easier to visualize what I wanted when I said it and feel the emotions and positive energy surrounding my intentions.

My short and sweet “I believe and trust the universe” affirmation changed to “It is my intent to have no fear and self-doubt within me and to completely trust the direction the universe is guiding me through for the sake of continuously enchanting and growing my business and myself.” I implore you to have a go yourself at saying this affirmation. You will notice that your perception, mindset, and outlook will change the more you keep saying it—and you’ll start believing it, too.

Specific affirmations can help you feel more confident in your business, more grounded, and less fearful about the challenges you’re facing. This type of manifesting can take your business to another level of abundance and growth – you just have to trust in it.

The Next Level – Cosmic Ordering

Cosmic ordering is another technique that works harmoniously with manifestation. Ellen Watts, the author of" Cosmic Ordering Made Easier: How To Get More of What You Want More Often," first introduced me to the technique. In it, she explains that essentially, cosmic ordering is asking the universe for what you want – and it arrives.

Ellen’s cosmic ordering technique is to lead with: “What I really want is X,” and then, you follow it by saying, “For the good of all concerned.” It is very important to finish each cosmic order with that final sentence as it ensures that no one should ever lose out for you and your business to gain.

It’s also important to remember to always let go once you have placed your order. If you can’t let go and your body and emotions feel anxious, you will block your order from coming through. Remove all emotional attachment and expectations and trust that it’s all in order (literally!).

Ellen advised that the best way to start working with the cosmic ordering technique is to do the ‘car parking order.’ This is where you ask the universe to ensure you have a parking space upon arrival in a car park. I gave it a go, and it worked. I was driving into a notoriously busy area and, as such, difficult to find a space in. Then, suddenly, I noticed a car start to reverse out, leaving a parking space ready for me to park in. A miracle? Or is it the magic of cosmic ordering?

While manifestations are similar to cosmic ordering, fusing the two principles can help you get what you want—and promptly—for your business.

How to Fit Cosmic Ordering into Your Business Infrastructure

Every morning, before I start working, I place my cosmic orders. For example, each day, I want to acquire new business leads and grow my sales pipeline, so I place the following cosmic order accordingly - “What I really want is for the universe to present me with a minimum of one fresh new business leader today who is a quality lead and is a filmmaker who has a finished film, is serious about working with me and has the budget to do so. For the good of all concerned.”

It’s very important during this process not to fixate on money. Instead, focus on how you will feel when the orders are delivered to you. There’s true power in positive thinking!

When you do get into a daily cosmic order routine, you’ll feel extremely motivated for the day. The more you get into a habit of placing your cosmic orders, the more it will become second nature to you. Remember to always remain calm when you place your cosmic orders and never bring negative energy or anxiety into your orders, as this shows fear. Instead, remain grounded and order when you know how to articulate what you want to ask for. Placing your cosmic orders each morning helps you to become more positive and trusting in the process— and also, in your business. Soon enough, you’ll see your business and new client base grow.

The Office Essential – Vision Boards

In my book “Born to Do It,” I frequently talk about the importance of a vision board. A vision board is a tool that can help you manifest your goals and desires more swiftly. It is a visualization tool comprising a board (of any sort) that you use to build a collage of words and pictures that represent your goals and dreams. Jack Canfield explains that vision boards provide you with a daily visual reminder of these dreams and goals. The reason vision boards work so well is that you can see them every day.

Feng Shui Master Marie Diamond, who was featured in the infamous self-help book “The Secret,” is very important that the images you place on your vision board reflect your goals and dreams and include images that you are both drawn to and that you would want to look at every single day. Photos, quotes, sayings, affirmations, images of places you want to go, reminders of events, dream clients, places and people, postcards from friends – in other words, just about anything that will inspire you.

It is also very important to get into a routine of looking at your vision board several times a day, ideally first thing in the morning and before you go to bed. Looking at pictures related to what you want helps you feel the positive feelings you want to cultivate more easily. Every morning and night, I look at my vision board, which keeps me motivated and inspires me to stay in alignment with my business dreams and goals. It also helps me build another layer of additional trust with regards to the cosmic orders I have placed and visualize my manifestations more clearly.

It is also important for you to encourage your staff and team members to adapt to this way of thinking.

During the pandemic, my team spent a lot of time at home and not with me in a physical office. So, I encouraged them to create vision boards specific to each film project that we were working on. This helped them to visualize more clearly their goals and what they wanted to achieve for each client. It also inspired them to find creative solutions to the challenges that we were facing with each project, and of course, the challenges with working as a hybrid and remote team.

I reminded them to get into a routine of looking at their vision boards several times a day, just like I did. Looking at their boards helped them to create innovative solutions and creative ideas that they wanted to cultivate more easily, resulting in exceptional results for our clients.

These three components are easy to tie together before you begin your working day. Need a shortcut? Upon waking up and starting your day – before even checking your phone or laptop and getting immersed in a slew of messages and text conversations – set your intentions by saying your manifestations, glance at your vision board to help you visualize your manifestations, and finish by placing your cosmic orders. It won’t take long (five to ten minutes tops), and then, you’ll be all set for a productive and endlessly abundant working day.
